Data Engineering Architect

Overview

Disney Entertainment & ESPN is hiring a Data Engineering Architect to shape and implement data architecture strategy across data governance, cloud migration, and data lifecycle improvements.

What you'll do

• Strategize data architecture principles, including cloud migration.
• Define and implement data governance platform strategies for operational, privacy, security, and related control areas.
• Define, document, and develop mapping rules for moving data from disparate sources into governance components.
• Build data models including entity-relationship and relational or dimensional models.
• Work with data engineers to derive logical models from physical data structures.
• Identify potential cost savings through ETL and storage optimization.

What you'll need

• 12+ years of experience in IT platform implementation in a technical role.
• 8+ years of development and/or DBA experience in RDBMS.
• 5+ years of data engineering experience in cloud computing, preferably AWS.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience implementing and performance tuning MPP databases.
• Experience analyzing data warehouses such as Redshift and Snowflake.
• Experience designing database environments and recommending performance optimizations.
• Experience across distributed data systems including Spark, Hadoop, and Kafka.
