Data Platform Engineer

Overview

Assist with the data platform blueprint and design, including the relevant data platform components, and collaborate with Integration Architects and Data Architects to ensure cohesive integration between systems and data models.

What you'll do

• Assist with the data platform blueprint and design, encompassing the relevant data platform components.
• Collaborate with Integration Architects and Data Architects to ensure cohesive integration between systems and data models.
• Engage in discussions to refine the architecture and design so the data platform meets the needs of various stakeholders while maintaining high standards of quality and performance.
• Participate in team meetings to discuss project progress, challenges, and solutions.
• Design, build and implement POCs, prototypes and full-fledged UX solutions and strategies.
• Communicate with key stakeholders to drive clarification of requirements and to promote UX designs and solutions.
• Support the design, e.g., by analyzing user journeys and driving towards simplification and automation.
• Enable high quality and compelling story telling through creation of strong, simple to understand data visualizations.
• Document technical solution design and strategy documentation.
• Run a quality assessment of a counterpart's design.
• Coach and develop other UX analysts.
• Adhere to Shell's Release and Change process.
• Pursue knowledge enhancement.

What you'll need

• Must have skill: Microsoft Azure Data Services.
• Minimum 5 years of experience is required.
• The candidate should have minimum 5 years of experience in Microsoft Azure Data Services.
• 15 years full time education is required.
• Experience Design Technology: Master.
• Source Data Procurement Strategies: Master.
• Agile, Scrum: Master.
• Data Visualization: Master.
• Authoring/Troubleshooting SQL queries: Skill.
• Security & Performance Config.: Skill.
• PowerBI, SAC, Azure Analytic Service: Skill.
• Dimension Modelling: Skill.

Nice to have

• Skilled at one of the secondary visualization tools (Power BI and Azure Analysis Services, Spotfire, SAP Analytics Cloud).
• Knowledge of cloud data engineering technologies.
