Overview

SQL Database Administrator to support 24x7 operations, ensuring health, performance, and availability of critical SQL Server databases.

What you'll do

• Administer and maintain SQL Server databases on Azure.
• Implement, configure, and manage AlwaysOn Availability Groups for high availability and disaster recovery.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database performance issues, outages, and incidents.
• Respond to alerts and incidents as part of a 24x7 on-call rotation.
• Perform database backups and restores.
• Monitor performance and proactively identify potential issues.
• Apply patches and upgrades and support capacity planning and performance tuning.
• Develop and maintain documentation for configurations and troubleshooting steps.

What you'll need

• 3+ years of experience as a SQL Server Database Administrator.
• Hands-on experience with Always On Availability Groups (AG) or other HADR solutions.
• Hands-on SQL Server database administration experience (installation, configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting).
• Experience with database performance tuning.
• Experience with database monitoring tools (SentryOne/LogicMonitor/AppDynamics).
• Knowledge of database security best practices, including user access controls and data encryption.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced 24x7 environment.

Nice to have

• AZ-900 certification.
