Database Support Engineer

Overview

Database Support Engineer supporting critical database platforms across Development, QA, UAT, and Production in a follow-the-sun model.

What you'll do

• Provide operational support for enterprise databases across on-prem private cloud and public cloud.
• Monitor database health, capacity, performance, and availability; respond to alerts and remediate issues.
• Perform routine maintenance such as patching, upgrades, and housekeeping.
• Troubleshoot database incidents and collaborate on root cause analysis.
• Design and test automation and self-service capabilities for database platforms.
• Drive continuous improvement to reduce toil and increase platform efficiency.

What you'll need

• 7+ years of experience in database administration and infrastructure engineering.
• Experience delivering services on multiple database technologies (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Sybase).
• Strong knowledge of cloud-based database services (e.g., AWS Aurora, RDS DB, EC2, EBS, S3).
• Hands-on scripting expertise (e.g., PowerShell, Korn Shell, Python or equivalent).
• Strong knowledge of observability tooling and operational monitoring design.
• Ability to troubleshoot under pressure with ownership and accountability.
• Strong ability to work effectively across time zones and teams.
