Deputy Manager EHS

Overview

Deputy Manager in the EHS (Environmental Health & Safety) department for the Chennai site, partnering with plant/dept leaders to identify risks and implement compliant control measures.

What you'll do

• Assist in identifying workplace safety and health risks and implementing control measures.
• Lead EHS site audits and risk assessment activities and ensure prompt corrective actions.
• Set up and maintain safety training programs and keep training documentation reviewed and up to date.
• Conduct facility safety audits on a set frequency to meet company and regulatory compliance.
• Test/inspect safety equipment such as PPE, eyewashes, showers, and fire extinguishers; maintain fire hydrant systems.
• Investigate incidents, respond to emergencies, and support learning transfer to other sites.
• Ensure ETP/STP/WTP and waste storage/removal meet relevant standards with proper documentation.

What you'll need

• Have 8–10 years of prior relevant experience.
• Hold a degree in Chemistry (Science) or a diploma/degree in chemical or mechanical engineering with a Diploma in Safety as a must requirement.
• Demonstrate strong communication and persuasion skills.
• Show good knowledge of Safety and Environment local regulations.
• Have knowledge of ETP/STP and effluent water treatment.
• Be able to strongly recommend and influence safe work practices.

• Location: Chennai; reports to National Lead EHS.
• Willingness to travel across the country is required.
