DevOps Engineer IV (Infrastructure)

Overview

Lead the hands-on cloud infrastructure and DevOps function for multiple products, owning how they are built, deployed, secured, and operated across Astreya and customer environments. The role is player-coach, with responsibility for technical decisions, customer infrastructure conversations, and mentoring a small team.

What you'll do

• Design, build, and operate GCP infrastructure across GKE, Cloud SQL, storage, networking, identity, and monitoring services.
• Own Terraform, Helm, CI/CD pipelines, environment configuration, migrations, and rollback paths.
• Deploy products into customer-controlled and Astreya-hosted environments.
• Build observability, alerting, dashboards, and SLOs for platform operations.
• Improve platform scalability, reliability, capacity, performance, and security.
• Lead incident response, produce root cause analyses, and document runbooks and decisions.
• Lead and mentor DevOps and infrastructure engineers while reviewing their work.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or equivalent education and experience.
• 8+ years of related experience and/or training.
• Hands-on production experience with Google Cloud and Kubernetes, preferably GKE.
• Professional Terraform experience, including modules, state management, and reviews.
• Strong scripting or coding ability in Python, Go, Bash, or equivalent.
• Cloud networking, security, IAM, secrets management, TLS, CI/CD, monitoring, and incident management experience.
• Ability to communicate with customer security teams and software developers.

Nice to have

• Azure experience with AKS, Key Vault, Entra ID, or VNet; AWS exposure.
• Customer-controlled cloud deployment experience.
• Production AI/ML workload experience.
• Exposure to SOC 2, ISO 27001, or comparable infrastructure audits.
• ServiceNow integration experience or relevant cloud/Kubernetes certification.
