DevOps Engineer - WAS+Automation

Overview

DevOps Engineer responsible for automating, operating, and securing enterprise middleware platforms, with a primary focus on IBM WebSphere and related application and web servers.

What you'll do

• Design middleware automation using Ansible, Python, and YAML.
• Automate provisioning, installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and decommissioning.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and VS Code.
• Manage middleware environments across Development, QA, UAT, and Production.
• Support Azure, hybrid, Windows, Linux, and containerized middleware deployments.
• Implement monitoring, automated remediation, security hardening, and compliance controls.
• Troubleshoot production incidents and perform root cause analysis.

What you'll need

• Experience with IBM WebSphere Application Server, IBM Liberty, IBM HTTP Server, Apache Tomcat, and JBoss EAP.
• Skills in Ansible, Python, PowerShell, Bash, and YAML.
• Knowledge of CI/CD, Git, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and Infrastructure-as-Code.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Azure, hybrid cloud, VMware platforms, Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.
• Knowledge of monitoring tools including Dynatrace, AppDynamics, Splunk, ELK, Grafana, Prometheus, or VMware Aria Operations.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, collaboration, documentation, and knowledge-sharing skills.

Nice to have

• Oracle WebLogic, IIS, and Apache HTTP Server experience.
