DevOps Lead, VP

Overview

Engineering role within the bank's IT Platform/Infrastructure, working as part of an engineering team to improve software delivery and release processes, with functional oversight of engineering delivery for specific departments.

What you'll do

• Plan and develop entire engineering solutions to accomplish business goals.
• Build reliability and resiliency into solutions with appropriate testing and review throughout the delivery lifecycle.
• Ensure maintainability and reusability of engineering solutions.
• Ensure solutions are well architected and can be integrated successfully into the end-to-end business process flow.
• Review engineering plans and quality to drive re-use and improve engineering capability.
• Participate in industry forums to drive adoption of innovative technologies, tools and solutions in the Bank.
• Work with software engineers to ensure development follows established processes and works as intended.
• Automate and improve development and release processes.
• Enhance Continuous Integration / Delivery / Monitoring.
• Identify issues and optimization potentials and implement solutions.
• Liaise with other technical teams, conduct technology research, and evaluate software required for maintaining the development environment.

What you'll need

• Good understanding of various design and architectural patterns.
• Proficient in a scripting language: JS, Shell, Perl, Python or Go.
• Good understanding of Microservices and API Management.
• Good hands-on experience in Java/Python.
• Good exposure to API, UI and Database Automation.
• Experience in supporting/building Continuous Delivery pipelines.
• Experience with deployment strategies such as Blue-green, Canary, A/B.
• Experience in monitoring/reporting tools such as New Relic, Grafana/Prometheus etc.
• Proficiency at troubleshooting issues with multi-tier applications.
• Good understanding of Networks.
• Hands-on knowledge of market-leading SDLC tools.
• Strong hold on managing containerized hosting platforms and applications.
• Hands-on Terraform knowledge.
• Experience in Agile practices.
• Proven ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity and optimise workflows to solve business problems, while applying critical judgment to ensure responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputs.
