Director - Data Engineering

Overview

Director role for enterprise data engineering and analytics, responsible for leading and scaling an enterprise data platform and analytics capabilities, including AI-ready data foundations.

What you'll do

• Define and evolve the enterprise data strategy and roadmap aligned with business priorities and future AI capabilities.
• Lead, hire, and mentor globally distributed teams and set delivery cadence.
• Design and deliver trusted, reusable data products for analytics, reporting, and AI.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership for architecture, key components, and production incident resolution.
• Establish engineering standards and practices to improve quality, scalability, and resilience.
• Ensure AI-ready data via governed semantic models, datasets, pipelines, metadata, lineage, and data quality.

What you'll need

• 10+ years designing and delivering data platforms or large-scale data systems.
• 5+ years building, mentoring, and scaling high-performing engineering teams.
• Hands-on Databricks experience, including Spark optimization, Delta Lake, job/workspace orchestration, and Unity Catalog.
• Practical AWS experience (e.g., S3, Glue, Redshift/Athena, Lambda, EKS/ECS) and infrastructure as code (CloudFormation or Terraform).
• Experience implementing data governance, metadata/catalog/lineage, and data quality frameworks (e.g., Great Expectations).
• Python and SQL required; Scala/Java advantageous.

Details

• Location: Gurugram (DLF Building).
• Hybrid work: expected to be in local office or onsite with clients at least three days per week; office teams identify an “anchor day” weekly.
