Director, Data Engineering & Analytics

Overview

Director, Data Engineering & Analytics to lead and grow the data organization’s platform and teams, owning strategy, architecture, and execution for a scalable data platform supporting AI-driven analytics and BI.

What you'll do

• Lead, mentor, and grow Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, and BI Development teams while setting best practices and performance standards.
• Define team charters, OKRs, and strategic roadmaps and drive hiring, development, and retention.
• Own end-to-end data platform vision and architecture from ingestion and storage through serving and consumption.
• Drive adoption of dbt, Spark, Airflow, Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, and Kafka.
• Implement governance, documentation, and trust via data quality, lineage, observability, and compliance standards.
• Partner with Data Science and AI Engineering to support real-time and batch insights and ML/genAI workflows.
• Deliver analytics outcomes including dbt semantic models, dashboards, embedded analytics, and SLAs.

What you'll need

• 8+ years in data engineering, analytics engineering, or data infrastructure roles.
• 3+ years managing multi-team or multi-functional data organizations.
• Deep expertise in ELT pipelines, cloud data warehouses, dbt, orchestration, and data modeling.
• Experience building and scaling data platforms for AI/ML workloads (including feature stores, vector search, or ML pipeline infrastructure).
• Experience with at least one major cloud data platform such as Snowflake, BigQuery, or Databricks.
• Proven ability to recruit, develop, and retain high-performing engineers and tech leads.
• Excellent communication skills to translate complex technical concepts for business audiences.
