Overview
Director of Design Engineering for Microchip’s Data Center Solutions (DCS) business unit, leading Design and Verification for advanced silicon in Bangalore.
What you'll do
- Lead and manage multidisciplinary Design and Verification teams for advanced silicon products.
- Drive technical strategy, architecture, and design execution for next-generation data center and AI infrastructure solutions.
- Collaborate across global engineering organizations to meet aggressive time-to-market objectives.
- Oversee silicon development phases from specification through RTL, verification, synthesis, timing closure, bring-up, and production release.
- Partner with Architecture, Firmware, Validation, Product Management, Program Management, and Applications Engineering teams to deliver products.
- Manage schedules, resource planning, risk mitigation, and execution to deliver on time with quality.
What you'll need
- 20+ years of semiconductor industry experience, including significant leadership experience managing design and verification teams.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical discipline.
- Proven track record delivering complex ASIC/SoC products from architecture through volume production.
- Deep expertise in PCIe, CXL, SAS, NVMe, and high-speed connectivity architectures and protocols.
- Hands-on RTL design knowledge using Verilog/SystemVerilog and verification methodologies such as UVM.
- Comprehensive understanding of the semiconductor development lifecycle including synthesis, timing closure, physical implementation, DFT, silicon validation, and tape-out.
- Demonstrated success leading geographically distributed global teams.
