Overview
Director, Machine Learning Engineering at AI Studio (Applied AI) within AI & Data Science. Lead multi-department AI/ML delivery, automation platforms, and governance for scalable, measurable AI products.
What you'll do
- Own multi-department AI/ML engineering strategy aligned to business, scientific, and enterprise technology priorities.
- Set portfolio direction for production software, data/knowledge systems, statistical modeling, classical ML, deep learning, foundation models, GenAI, RAG, agents, evaluation, MLOps/LLMOps, and AI operations.
- Drive AI solution delivery against timelines, budget, and quality parameters.
- Lead engineering delivery across departments, including building and operating leadership systems and accountabilities.
- Establish multi-department standards for modeling evidence, experiment design, uncertainty, robustness, evaluation, and lifecycle quality.
- Sponsor major platform and operating-model changes, including knowledge/retrieval strategy, evaluation services, and vendor/build-versus-buy decisions.
What you'll need
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field with 18–23 years of experience.
- Demonstrated Director-level scope consistent with the responsibilities.
- Expert strategic judgment across production ML/AI and governance decisions through senior technical leaders.
- Proficiency with AI/ML libraries/frameworks including Keras, PyTorch, scikit-learn, LangChain, and llamaindex.
- Proven ability to manage large-scale tech projects and deliver AI/ML solutions.
- Must-have leadership of advanced AI/ML portfolios or major programs across multiple departments or product areas with measurable impact.
