Director Of Engineering

Overview

Lead the engineering function for a designated department, setting technical direction, delivering products and services, and aligning engineering initiatives with product and business outcomes.

What you'll do

• Set technical direction and guide engineering teams.
• Partner with Product Managers to define and track department KPIs.
• Oversee engineering delivery from project inception through deployment.
• Establish standards for software quality, maintainability, and scalability.
• Develop engineering talent through feedback, coaching, mentorship, and succession planning.
• Implement risk management, data security, privacy, and compliance processes.

What you'll need

• Proven experience as a seasoned engineering leader managing teams.
• Experience in a high-growth, product-led environment.
• Strong understanding of software development principles, architectures, and best practices.
• Experience leading large-scale engineering projects and delivering complex solutions on time and within budget.
• Expertise in technology governance, risk management, and compliance.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, business acumen, and strategic thinking.

Nice to have

• Experience managing infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience with Apache Cassandra, ScyllaDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis, or Memcached.
• Experience developing Kubernetes operators.
• Go programming experience or willingness to learn Go.
