Overview
Senior Engineer role within Manufacturing Data Analytics for GM manufacturing processes, using data analytics and big data to solve manufacturing business problems.
What you'll do
- Collaborate with plant teams, SMEs, IT departments, and the analytics community to gather and document analytics requirements.
- Extract data using existing IoT solutions and big data sources, then analyze, test, and validate outcomes.
- Identify trends and patterns in datasets and communicate insights to teams and leaders.
- Develop proof of concepts using manufacturing domain and IoT knowledge to address complex manufacturing challenges.
- Monitor data collection pipeline health, report issues, and follow up with responsible teams.
- Create user stories and frameworks for IT to productize self-developed solutions.
What you'll need
- Have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in automotive technology, mathematics, statistics, computer science, or information technology.
- Have 4-10 years of experience in an automotive company or a data analytics environment.
- Be proficient in Python (preferred) or other object-oriented programming languages.
- Have expert-level data analysis skills, including pattern identification and data-driven recommendations.
- Use statistical techniques and apply AI/ML/GenAI to business problems.
- Be experienced with data pipelines and tools including PowerBI, SQL, Git, Databricks, Azure cloud, and DevOps/MLOps/LLMOps.
- Have familiarity with IoT data collection methods and solutions.
Details
- Location: Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.
- Work arrangement: hybrid (expected to report to the office four times per week or as dictated by the business).
- Travel: primarily non-travel; business travel may be needed on special requirements for a short duration.
- Possible assignment: international short-term assignment for 6 months in the first year for training and development.
