Job description

Overview

The Duty Engineer oversees technical operations, building maintenance activities, utilities, contractors, electricians and vendors to support smooth day-to-day operation.

What you'll do

  • Keep the Company up to speed on operating and utilities costs.
  • Monitor invoices for technical services rendered with the building manager.
  • Monitor contractors’ maintenance practices to ensure alignment with manufacturer recommendations and preventive maintenance standards.
  • Oversee the repair and maintenance of cooling and heating systems, plumbing and water supply, electricity and lighting fixtures, and other equipment and supplies.
  • Perform routine inspection, inventory and documentation of these systems.
  • Oversee electricians and their scope of work.
  • Work closely with superiors, peers and subordinates.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for vendors for maintenance services.
  • Monitor maintenance activities.
  • Produce daily and weekly summary reports on maintenance activities.

What you'll need

  • A degree.
  • At least three years’ experience in the field.
  • Strong working knowledge of policies, building maintenance and people management.

Nice to have

  • Proven expertise in the principles and techniques of carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and general property management.
