E3D Engineer, EI&C

Overview

Valmet is seeking an E3D Engineer specializing in Electrical, Instrumentation, and Control (EI&C) design for industrial projects in Chennai.

What you'll do

• Develop and maintain 3D E3D models for EI&C equipment, cable trays, conduits, and supports.
• Create 2D drawings (wiring diagrams, loop diagrams, panel layouts, and installation details) from the E3D model.
• Run clash detection and interference checks for equipment placement and cable routing.
• Coordinate with process, mechanical, and civil disciplines to integrate EI&C designs into the plant model.
• Prepare Bills of Material (BOMs) and material take-offs for EI&C components.
• Conduct design reviews, provide technical input, and answer technical queries during construction/commissioning.

What you'll need

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of EI&C design experience in an industrial environment.
• Proficiency in AVEVA E3D (formerly PDMS) with Electrical, Instrumentation, and Cable Routing modules.
• Knowledge of electrical power distribution, instrumentation principles, control systems, and fieldbus technologies.
• Experience with international engineering standards such as IEC, ISA, and NEC.
• Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, and control narratives.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken).
