ELA Assessment Content Creator, Elementary 3-5 (24 months fixed-term)

Overview

Create and improve elementary grades 3–5 English language arts assessment content for Khan Academy’s Assessments team. This is a 24-month fixed-term role involving collaboration with product, design, engineering, and content teams.

What you'll do

• Create K–12 assessment content from blueprints using subject matter expertise.
• Use and improve content and item management systems.
• Align assessment items with state standards and development best practices.
• Collaborate with product, design, engineering, and content teammates.
• Develop engaging and informative assessment experiences.
• Innovate with AI-enabled item types.

What you'll need

• At least 2 years of classroom experience teaching elementary ELA.
• Experience developing grades 3–5 ELA assessments.
• Deep expertise in pedagogy and state and national standards.
• Experience collaborating on time-sensitive projects.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Project management skills, including Google Docs and spreadsheets.
• Interest in using AI tools for content creation.

Nice to have

• Middle school assessment experience.

• Remote work is available in the continental United States, Hawaii, and Canada.

• Annual compensation is $77,600–$87,300 USD in the United States or $104,862–$117,969 CAD in Canada.
