Electrical Engineer- 6-9 years of relevant work experience

Overview

Technical Leader for new product and ongoing engineering of a specific product or group of products, from pre-concept commit through EOL, within Cisco's Web scale and Service Provider product engineering team (Cisco 8000 series routers and switches built on Silicon One ASIC).

What you'll do

• Provide new product and ongoing engineering, including DFM/DFA/DFC/DFFS, for a specific product or group of products from pre-concept commit through EOL.
• Collaborate with design (hardware and mechanical), process, test, and reliability engineering to address problems and ensure cost avoidance and quality at FCS.
• Review and provide input on design and architecture from DFM, component technology used, EOL, and influence the design team for optimum selection.
• Provide all technical support required for proto builds during NPI and ensure cost, quality and delivery targets are met.
• Manage change management activities during sustenance and work towards meeting factory and field quality metrics.
• Drive value engineering activities to improve cost margins during the product life cycle.
• Provide supply chain continuity and resiliency support.

What you'll need

• BS plus 6-8 years of work experience as a product or design engineer.
• Very good understanding of electronic product design and architecture.
• Knowledge of PCB design, stack ups and Allegro.
• Knowledge of PCBA manufacturing, system build and NPI process.
• Good driving capability to work with cross-functional teams and drive deliverables to closure.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Valor and DFM.
• Good understanding of hardware interfaces: high speed serial interfaces, PCIe, Ethernet, SATA, I2C, etc.
• Design lab experimentation / debug (proficiency continuum) / DOE / EFA.
• Technical lifecycle management (defect reduction team participation, new component qualification, etc.).
• Assessing CM and supply chain technical capability gaps.
