Overview
Supports assigned product development projects through electromechanical design, engineering analysis, validation, and cross-functional collaboration for liquid-cooled home standby generators.
What you'll do
- Design, develop, validate, and support the release of new products, systems, and component technologies, taking technical execution from concept through production release.
- Define functional requirements and develop optimized engineering solutions through the design, integration, testing, and evaluation of components and systems, including assessment of performance, cost, reliability, risk, and safety.
- Plan, execute, and evaluate fit-for-use testing and validation activities, and support development of product specifications, validation plans, material specifications, and bills of materials.
- Use CAD and CAE tools to develop and analyze designs, create detailed engineering drawings and models, and assess electromechanical system performance and improvement opportunities.
- Partner cross-functionally with manufacturing, suppliers, designers, and product specialists to optimize designs for manufacturability and help achieve project targets for performance, cost, schedule, and design requirements.
- Develop risk assessments and DFMEA/FMEA documentation and provide recommendations during engineering design reviews.
- Support prototype builds, testing, troubleshooting, and validation activities, and drive corrective actions to meet functional, performance, and safety requirements.
- Investigate and resolve technical issues, collaborate with cross-functional teams on root cause analysis, and escalate high-risk or high-impact issues to engineering leadership.
- Travel to Generac facilities, suppliers, or test locations as required, including limited international travel.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
