Mechanical Engineer I - Wellbore Construction New Product Development

Overview

Engineer I role in the Wellbore Construction New Product Development group, providing product design and qualification support for product line equipment worldwide. The role works independently within a team framework to develop and support products in the Technology groups.

What you'll do

• Execute, with guidance from senior engineering resources, the analysis, design, test, or integration required to support assigned components, assemblies or systems that meet business standards and program / product requirements.
• Prepare and present technical data to internal and external customers.
• Document and communicate results of technical data generated.
• Share engineering information and promote open dialogue.
• Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
• Participate in teams assigned to address organizational initiatives and generic issues.
• Present or participate in technical and program design reviews.
• Estimate and manage assigned project timelines and costs, as applicable.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university or college.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry.
• Experience in New Product Development.
• Good communication skills and teamwork abilities.
• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals.
• Experience in design and analysis through academic or professional projects.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in the design of down hole oil field equipment.
• Experience with simulation tools such as ANSYS, Abaqus, or MARC.
• Understanding of basic oilfield practices and applications.
• Experience with product design including stress calculations and tolerance studies.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes/design for manufacturability.
• Experience with SolidWorks 3D CAD system.
• Experience with Teamcenter PLM software.

Nice to have

• Experience in completions technologies (preferred within the 3 years of Oil and Gas experience).
