Engineer 1 - Software Engineer

Overview

Develop and test software products for configuring and managing power plant control systems as part of the Controls Platform Software team.

What you'll do

• Work in an Agile development environment.
• Design and develop software modules, components, features, or complete products.
• Develop desktop applications using C# .NET.
• Collaborate with internal users and global teams to understand user stories and use cases.
• Lead multiple products, including legacy application maintenance.
• Create product documentation for developers and users.

What you'll need

• 2–5 years of professional desktop application development experience.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science or a STEM major.
• Experience with C# and .NET.
• Experience with WinForms or WPF.
• Knowledge of modular applications, n-tier architecture, and object-oriented design.
• Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of software design patterns and test-driven development.
• Understanding of SDLC, CI, software and product security, scalability, documentation, refactoring, and testing.
• Experience with multithreaded and asynchronous programming.
• Experience with MODBUS, Profibus, Profinet, FF, CAN, or Ethernet protocols.
