Engineer

Overview

Engineer role in GTSC Mechanical, focused on finite element analysis of plastic automotive components and simulation-based mechanical validation.

What you'll do

• Prepare FEA models using 2D shell meshing for plastic components.
• Perform FEA simulations.
• Debug Abaqus simulation convergence issues.
• Carry out post-processing and interpret results.
• Validate mechanical design and propose design modifications to improve it.
• Validate simulation results by comparing them with test results.
• Support methodology development and benchmarking of simulation tool applications.
• Plan time, track work and update status to the customer.
• Document and share best practices.
• Successfully handle multiple priorities.

What you'll need

• Around 2-3 years of significant professional experience in plastic parts meshing using ANSA or HyperMesh.
• Around 2-3 years of significant professional experience in FEA analysis using Abaqus or OptiStruct.
• Good experience in non-linear structural simulations.
• Good experience in vibration simulations (modal, harmonic, PSD).
• Good theoretical knowledge of core mechanical subjects such as strength of materials (SOM), dynamics and fatigue.
• Good understanding of automotive HVAC systems and other subsystems.
• Good problem-solving and communication skills.
• Good written and verbal communication.
