Overview
Engineer - Control System role within GE Vernova’s FACTS Solution Line, focused on control software and simulations for STATCOM/FACTS systems.
What you'll do
- Develop and implement control algorithms for STATCOM and FACTS applications.
- Run power system studies and dynamic simulations using PSCAD and MATLAB Simulink.
- Support control software testing, including simulation, offline testing, and real-time testing with RSCAD/RTDS.
- Develop, validate, and optimize control functions (voltage, reactive power, current control, fault ride through).
- Build and maintain RMS and EMT simulation models for control design and validation.
- Support Factory Acceptance Test, site commissioning, and troubleshooting.
- Prepare technical documentation and provide technical support during customer discussions.
What you'll need
- 4-10 years of relevant experience in Substation/FACTS/HVDC projects.
- Minimum 2 years of experience specifically in STATCOM/FACTS/HVDC projects.
- PSCAd and MATLAB Simulink experience for power system studies and dynamic simulations.
- RSCAD/RTDS experience for real-time testing.
- Experience developing STATCOM/FACTS control functions.
- BTech/MTech in Electrical Engineering, preferably Power System.
- Strong prioritizing and time management skills.
