Engineer-Cost Out/VAVE-Electrical

Overview

Engineer – Electrical Cost Out job in Pune, focused on identifying and executing cost-out projects for electrical and related product areas, supporting Direct Material Productivity (DMP).

What you'll do

• Identify, drive, and execute cost-out projects for Electrical and related product categories as part of the DMP team.
• Collaborate with Global Procurement and product divisions to generate cost-out opportunities and VA projects.
• Develop and maintain services that deliver significant cost-out opportunities.
• Analyze commodity spend data and apply data analytics and ideation to create new project opportunities.
• Address supplier and internal customer queries, constraints, and provide solutions for process improvement.
• Create robust pipelines of executable cost-out projects.
• Develop design guidelines and test protocols for electrical components.

What you'll need

• 3–6 years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (with cost-out experience).
• Experience with electrical components, wires, electronic systems, and related product areas.
• Awareness of supplier qualifications for technical aspects.
• Ability to apply electrical design fundamentals and product concepts to new cost-out ideas.
• Knowledge of duty cycle attributes for electrical component requirements.
• Knowledge of application standards IEC/UL for electrical products.

Nice to have

• Experience in product process, testing, and validation activities.
• Preparation of technical compliance agreements with suppliers or customers.
• Preparation of material concepts, part applications, and tools for the relevant product base.
• Ability to redesign or alternate designs for customer requirements.
• Ability to identify VAVE projects/activities for faster execution.
• Good interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
