Cost Out Engineer for the Electronics category, analyzing technical and commercial data for cost-out, resiliency, and NPI initiatives.
What you'll do
- Analyze spend data to identify cost-out gaps for electronics components and PCBAs.
- Build category strategies for enterprise-wide cost-out and resiliency projects with procurement and supply chain partners.
- Improve engineering data for electronics components, PCB, and box-build components.
- Drive productivity through supplier consolidations, key data improvements, and reducing part proliferation.
- Apply engineering tools and principles for component selection and PCB-related validation via simulations or analytics.
- Coordinate with manufacturing, product teams, and suppliers on design-for-manufacturing/testing/assembly issues.
- Engage with suppliers to generate ideas supporting cost out, resiliency, and NPIs.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electronics or E&TC.
- Relevant experience: 3–6 years if BE/B-Tech; Fresher if MTech.
- Understanding of electronic component specifications, lifecycles, and industry standards.
- Awareness of PCB fabrication, gerbers, and applicable standards/compliances such as IEC/UL/ISO/RoHS/REACH.
- Sound knowledge of spend data analysis.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Hands-on use of Silicon Expert and schematic/PCB CAD tools such as OrCAD, Altium, Mentor Graphics, and CAM350.
