Systems Designer

Overview

Systems Designer supports engineers with drafting and CAD work, including creating/modifying components and Bill of Materials (BOM) and preparing change notice documents.

What you'll do

• Utilize GD&T practices to update current drawings based on engineering markups.
• Create 3D and 2D CAD layouts for parts, medium assemblies, and sub-weldments.
• Work cross-functionally and with suppliers to obtain technical data.
• Create medium complexity Change Notice (CN) documents based on BOM and design layouts.
• Use an ERP system to create part numbers following naming and data entry requirements.
• Prepare and revise medium complexity BOM following department procedures.
• Provide technical assistance for build issue, prototype, pilot, and production support to Engineering.

What you'll need

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) with 2 years of design experience.
• Experience working with GD&T practices (for work described).
• Ability to use computer-aided drafting/CAD tools to create drawings and layouts.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Detail-oriented approach to confirm accuracy, organization, and dimension/tolerance convention.
• Ability to use standard Windows Office tools including SharePoint, email, and CAD tools.

Nice to have

• 6 years of design experience.
• Experience and/or training in GD&T.
• Verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment.
