Engineer - DMP - Electrical Products

Overview

Analyze commercial and technical data for electrical components and assemblies to generate, support and execute cost-out, resiliency and new product introduction projects. Contribute to category strategies, engineering data improvement, data libraries and cost-effective, technically compatible product recommendations for LV/MV products.

What you'll do

• Analyze technical and commercial information to generate cost-out opportunities through resourcing, negotiation and VAVE.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to execute cost-out, NPI and resiliency projects.
• Understand requirements, propose the best possible solutions and communicate clearly.
• Work with UL and IEC standards, prepare test plans and validate products.
• Create data banks for specified electrical products and work with contractual engineers.
• Apply electrical engineering fundamentals, physics, product design and development knowledge to create and execute ideas.
• Collaborate with Should Costing, Sourcing, TCO, plant buyers and other teams.
• Collaborate with suppliers and internal customers to execute cost-out projects.
• Conduct brainstorming sessions and competitor product benchmarking with cross-functional teams to generate cost-out ideas.
• Contribute to category-wise strategies with global procurement, product development, product line management, global sourcing teams and suppliers across the globe.
• Improve engineering data for electrical components or subassemblies associated with LV and MV products and contribute to data library development.
• Suggest cost-effective and technically compatible products from strategic suppliers to reduce new product development times.

What you'll need

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 3+ years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree or 2 years of experience with a Master’s degree.
• Hands-on experience in the design and development of electrical products and LV/MV subsystems.
• Experience with cost-out projects, the ability to handle multiple projects and exposure to SCM.
• Experience managing large data, performing data analysis and collaborating with different teams.
• Knowledge of LV/MV electrical products.
• Experience in electrical product design, development and testing.
• Hands-on experience in supplier identification, selection and development.
• Ability to generate cost-out ideas using engineering fundamentals, design basics, product knowledge, data analytics and brainstorming sessions.
• Knowledge of standards applicable to electrical products.
• Good project and portfolio management skills, including the ability to handle multiple projects and lead.
• Ability to work and interact with global cross-functional and cross-cultural teams.
• Good interpersonal, oral, verbal communication and presentation skills, including the ability to speak up if a roadblock appears.
• Data analytics skills.
