Overview
Engineer responsible for hardware design and development of products for Electrical/Residential applications, supporting project schedules, budgets, technical solutions, product development and technology innovations.
What you'll do
- Execute the complete hardware development life cycle, including requirements management, design, development, verification and validation, qualification and certification testing.
- Support hardware design for Residential/Commercial Products.
- Design 8/16/32 bit microcontroller-based solutions.
- Perform hardware design, functional testing and qualification testing.
- Verify designs using simulation tools such as PSpice, LTSpice and Model Sim.
- Apply analytical skills to resolve complex technical issues.
- Contribute to project planning, risk analysis and mitigation plans, and project reviews.
- Collaborate with local/global suppliers on prototype development and with external labs for testing.
- Technically lead and execute projects, including risk identification and proposals for mitigation.
- Collaborate with marketing, CoEs, mechanical, layout and firmware engineers to validate designs through certification.
- Support interaction with cross-functional teams including Marketing and Manufacturing.
- Follow change management processes and release designs into the ENOVIA PLM system.
What you'll need
- B.E. (10+6 Years) in Electronics, Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering.
- 3-6 Years of experience in Electronics Design and Development.
- Experience in hardware design, including power supply, analog design, digital design, board bring-up and unit testing.
- Expertise in CAD tools and simulation tools necessary for Electronics Design.
- Hands-on experience implementing MCU-based designs with verification and validation testing.
- Good knowledge of EMI/EMC certification and environmental compliances, including UL, IEC, RoHS and REACH.
- Hardware design knowledge for communication protocols such as USB, SPI, I2C and wireless.
- Good knowledge of PCB design guidelines for signal integrity, high-speed design and EMI/EMC.
- Good knowledge of NPI development processes, DFSS/DFX artifacts and the ProLaunch process.
- Strong verbal, documentation and interpersonal communication skills.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in ambiguity and support process improvement.
Nice to have
- Experience working with a manufacturing plant, establishing plant processes, testing and yield analysis.
