Senior Engineer I PCB Design

Overview

Senior Engineer I focused on PCB design for power electronics, including variable speed drive electronics. Role is within the Power Electronics team in Copeland India (Pune).

What you'll do

• Develop complex PCB layouts for variable speed drives from concept through release to manufacturing.
• Translate schematics, technical requirements, and mechanical constraints into optimized board designs.
• Define and apply layout rules including layer stack-ups, controlled impedance requirements, and routing strategies.
• Design PCB layouts for high-speed, mixed-signal power electronics.
• Apply best practices for signal integrity, power integrity, thermal management, grounding, shielding, and EMC performance.
• Perform design checks and layout reviews for compliance with internal guidelines, customer requirements, and industry standards.
• Prepare manufacturing data packages including fabrication outputs, assembly documentation, and supplier information.

What you'll need

• 5 to 7 years of practical experience in PCB layout and electronic product development.
• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, or a comparable technical field.
• Strong PCB tool experience with Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro.
• Solid PCB knowledge including manufacturing processes and layer stack-ups.
• Experience/knowledge of controlled impedance design and differential pair routing.
• Understanding of EMC-oriented layout, grounding concepts, filtering, shielding, signal integrity, power integrity, and thermal design principles.
• Experience with Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Test (DFT), and Design for Assembly (DFA) requirements.
