Engineer II

Overview

Engineer II role within LPL Financial’s Global Capability Center, focused on full-stack software engineering for modern digital platforms that support advisors and home office operations.

What you'll do

• Design, develop, test, and implement full-stack solutions using Python, Angular, AWS, and SQL.
• Build and maintain cloud-native, containerized microservices architectures.
• Own features end-to-end, including deployment, observability, and production support.
• Design and implement REST/gRPC services with Python.
• Provide technical leadership through design reviews and code reviews.
• Troubleshoot, optimize, and enhance existing systems.

What you'll need

• 5+ years of hands-on full-stack software development experience.
• 5+ years designing and implementing complex, distributed systems.
• Strong experience with Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, AWS, and SQL & NoSQL.
• 5+ years of AWS cloud development/deployment experience including EKS, RDS/Aurora, S3, Athena, Glue, and EventBridge.
• Experience building ETL and data pipelines from structured and unstructured sources.
• Experience with Git-based source control and pull-request workflows.
• Agile tools such as Jira (or equivalent) and CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps.
