Engineer II - DBA Engineer

Overview

Database Reliability Engineer role supporting the development and maintenance of Anaplan's hybrid multi-cloud infrastructure, with a focus on database automation within a global environment.

What you'll do

• Support MySQL, Postgres and MS SQL Server across the multi-tenant platform.
• Perform routine DBA maintenance.
• Partner with Support and engineering on tenant operations (cloning, restore, access) and on query and stored procedure optimisations.
• Conduct schema, query and sizing/resource reviews for new services on the Anaplan platform.
• Work on the application and database modernisation roadmap, migrating to integrate with containerised services.

What you'll need

• DBA experience with MySQL or Postgres.
• Understanding of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes), and ideally containerized databases.
• Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
• BSc degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• MS SQL/Azure SQL databases.
• Hands-on experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP or Azure).
• Experience with PowerShell and T-SQL.
• Knowledge of Azure DevOps.
• Exposure to monitoring tools like Grafana or Prometheus.
• Understanding of automation tools such as Terraform.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins).
