Engineer, Lead Product

Overview

Lead product engineering role at Cosma International, a Magna group company that supplies body, chassis and engineering solutions to global automotive customers, leading complex sheet-metal and casting product projects from concept through launch.

What you'll do

• Lead and manage complex projects from concept initiation through feasibility, design, construction, try-out, launch and logistics.
• Apply product development and innovation expertise, including PLM systems, GD&T, VA/VE and FMEA.
• Apply process and manufacturing knowledge, including forming, joining and quality-related processes.
• Use IT tools, advanced data analysis methods and AI-supported solutions to improve efficiency, analysis quality and decision-making.
• Prepare reports, proposals, presentations and customer-facing documentation.
• Handle complex problems, structure topics and contribute to effective and sustainable solutions.

What you'll need

• Broad and advanced knowledge of sheet-metal components (steel and aluminum) and/or castings, covering at least five commodities.
• Strong proficiency in mechanical laboratory testing methods (tensile testing, hardness measurement, metallurgy).
• Highly experienced in automotive quality requirements such as APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans and SPC.
• Sound knowledge of Quality Management System (QMS) requirements.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong time and self-management skills, proactively and reliably prioritizing assigned tasks.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, etc.) and collaboration tools (OneDrive, Teams, SharePoint, etc.).
