Job description

Overview

Own key foundational areas of OpenGov’s Public Service Platform, including Identity and Access Management capabilities for government users, public users, and internal staff. Lead cross-functional efforts, execute discovery, and drive delivery from specification through launch while using AI-native tooling for execution.

What you'll do

  • Define and communicate the product vision for your area based on customer research, competitive context, and business goals.
  • Conduct and synthesize customer discovery and translate findings into decisions about what to build and what to cut.
  • Own the product roadmap, prioritize work, explain your reasoning publicly, and revise the roadmap when new facts warrant it.
  • Ship code to production, not just create prototypes.
  • Define user experience flows and interaction patterns within the design system, escalating genuinely new system-level patterns to Experience Architects.
  • Write intent documents for AI tooling and review AI-generated specifications for accuracy, completeness, and correctness.
  • Partner with engineering to unblock builds, resolve ambiguity in real time, and make decisions during development without becoming a bottleneck.
  • Track adoption, usage, and business outcome metrics and use them to drive the next iteration.
  • Represent the product in customer conversations, QBRs, and cross-functional reviews.
  • Identify gaps in AI harnesses and design system coverage and surface platform investment requests with clear business justification.
  • Use AI tooling to support specification writing, UX mockups, code shipping, research synthesis, release content, code review, test coverage, and competitive intelligence while remaining accountable for product decisions and outcomes.

What you'll need

  • 4–6 years of experience in product management, UX design, or a closely adjacent role.
  • A demonstrated track record of shipping products customers use.
  • Demonstrated experience building and implementing Access Control systems at scale, including working with internal stakeholders to onboard new products.
  • Ability to conduct and synthesize customer discovery and translate findings into prioritized roadmap decisions.
  • Ability to proactively identify challenges and communicate issues early.
  • Strong written and verbal skills.
  • Ability to connect different functional areas and understand their interdependencies within the broader organization.
  • Comfort defining user experience flows and working within a design system.
  • Proficiency or actively developing proficiency in AI-native workflows.
  • SaaS product experience.

Nice to have

  • B2G background.
