Overview
Staff Engineer role focused on multimedia and camera software engineering, with hands-on Linux kernel driver development and technical leadership for complex multimedia systems.
What you'll do
- Develop Linux kernel drivers.
- Contribute to upstream Linux kernel projects, including camera and multimedia subsystem upstreaming.
- Participate in open source community discussions.
- Own features end to end across the full product lifecycle, from pre-silicon enablement and bring-up through commercialization.
- Act as a technical lead driving architecture and design decisions for complex multimedia systems.
- Lead and mentor engineering teams of 10+ engineers, including task planning, technical guidance, and design reviews.
- Work directly with customers to understand requirements, debug critical issues, and drive solutions to closure.
What you'll need
- Strong hands-on experience in Linux kernel driver development.
- Deep understanding of kernel internals and device drivers.
- Proven track record of upstream Linux kernel contributions, including camera and multimedia subsystem upstreaming.
- Solid experience with open-source multimedia architectures such as V4L2, Media Controller, and libcamera.
- Experience leading and mentoring engineering teams of 10+ engineers.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience, or Master's degree in one of these fields and 3+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience, or PhD in one of these fields and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
- 2+ years of work experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Java, and Python.
Nice to have
- Camera domain experience is strongly preferred.
