Sr Staff Engineer- Camera

Overview

Serve as a Senior Technical Lead for multimedia and camera engineering, with hands-on ownership of Linux kernel drivers and complex multimedia systems across the full product lifecycle.

What you'll do

• Develop Linux kernel drivers and work with kernel internals and device drivers.
• Contribute to upstream Linux kernel projects, including camera and multimedia subsystem upstreaming.
• Participate in open source community discussions.
• Own features end to end across pre-silicon enablement, bring-up, and commercialization.
• Drive architecture and design decisions for complex multimedia systems as a technical lead.
• Lead and mentor engineering teams of 10+ engineers, including task planning, technical guidance, and design reviews.
• Work directly with customers to understand requirements, debug critical issues, and drive solutions to closure.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 8+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience, or Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 7+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience, or PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 6+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
• 4+ years of work experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
• Strong hands-on experience in Linux kernel driver development.
• Deep understanding of kernel internals and device drivers.
• Proven track record of upstream Linux kernel contributions.
• Solid experience with open-source multimedia architectures such as V4L2, Media Controller, and libcamera.
• Experience leading and mentoring engineering teams of 10+ engineers.
• Demonstrated ability to work directly with customers, understand requirements, debug critical issues, and drive solutions to closure.
• Experience in IoT.
• 15+ years of experience.

Nice to have

• Camera domain experience is strongly preferred.
