Senior Cloud Developer

Overview

Build and deliver innovative, end-to-end cloud-based technical solutions for mission-critical applications and customer problems. Work on the design, development, and product portfolio of HPE's next-generation cloud platform, Green Lake.

What you'll do

• Lead project teams in the design and development of complex products and platforms, including solution design, analysis, coding, testing, and integration for efficient, scalable, and robust cloud subsystems.
• Review and evaluate designs and test plans, and develop code for compliance with cloud design and development guidelines and standards.
• Provide tangible feedback to improve product quality and mitigate risks.
• Represent the engineering team in technical forums.
• Provide guidance and mentoring to less-experienced team members.
• Drive innovation and integrate new technologies into projects and activities in the software systems design organization.
• Analyze science, engineering, business, and other data processing problems to develop and implement solutions to complex application problems, system administration issues, or network concerns.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or a closely related quantitative discipline.
• Typically, 7-10 years’ experience.
• Strong JAVA/C++/Golang programming skills.
• Expertise in file systems, networking, or distributed storage/compute systems.
• Good debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Communication skills and the ability to work independently.
• Thorough knowledge of the Linux/UNIX and Kubernetes environment.
• Proficiency with data structures, algorithms, and multi-threaded programming.
• In-depth knowledge of OS internals and storage concepts.
• Understanding of microservice architecture and how microservices can be built in a containerized, Kubernetes-managed environment.
• Ability to design and integrate software systems running on multiple platform types into the overall architecture.
• Ability to evaluate forms and processes for software systems testing and methodology, including writing and executing test plans, debugging, and testing scripts and tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate product architectures and design proposals at senior management levels.

• This role is onsite, with an expectation that you will primarily work from an HPE office.
