Overview
Engineering Manager leading the Compute Team responsible for the core compute platform powering backend services. The role combines team leadership, architectural direction, and hands-on production code contribution.
What you'll do
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of approximately eight software engineers.
- Set architectural direction for reliable, scalable compute platforms.
- Design, implement, and optimize compute services for orchestration, provisioning, scaling, and runtimes.
- Collaborate with Infrastructure, Security, and Backend teams on priorities and integrations.
- Conduct one-to-ones, performance reviews, and technical coaching.
- Translate strategic objectives into execution plans and ensure timely delivery.
- Promote software development, automation, and operational best practices.
What you'll need
- 7+ years of software engineering experience.
- 2+ years in technical leadership or engineering management.
- Expertise with cloud platforms, preferably AWS services including EC2, ECS, Lambda, IAM, and CloudWatch.
- Experience building distributed backend systems with Golang.
- Experience with infrastructure, platform engineering, compute orchestration, reliability, and observability.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, containerization, service mesh technologies, Infrastructure-as-Code, and CI/CD automation.
- Strong Linux, networking, monitoring, communication, leadership, and technical judgment skills.
