Engineering Manager, Connectivity - London

Overview

Lead the Connectivity engineering team (London, with collaboration across SF) to build connectivity infrastructure for Claude’s tool access, including the MCP proxy and OAuth/token management.

What you'll do

• Lead engineering efforts to build connectivity infrastructure powering tool use across Anthropic’s products.
• Manage hiring, coaching, and performance for direct reports.
• Coach and mentor engineers, supporting career development and goal-setting.
• Partner with Connectivity leadership in San Francisco and coordinate with product, security, and platform teams to define the roadmap.
• Drive cross-team alignment to ship work spanning claude.ai, Claude Code, Cowork, and the API.
• Establish engineering best practices, including operational rigor such as on-call, incident response, and postmortems.
• Contribute to engineering-wide initiatives as part of the engineering management team.

What you'll need

• Experience managing software engineering teams (hiring, coaching, and performance management).
• Backend or platform engineering background to guide architectural decisions.
• Experience operating production distributed systems, including reliability, observability, and incident response at scale.
• Excellent communication skills to build consensus across teams and time zones.
• Demonstrated success building a culture of belonging and product/engineering excellence.
