Engineering Manager - Software Design

Overview

Lead a team responsible for core microcontroller platform software and embedded security features for IoT device platforms. The role combines technical ownership with people management in embedded systems development.

What you'll do

• Lead, coach, and grow an embedded software engineering team.
• Own design and delivery of peripheral drivers, RTOS layers, and system services.
• Deliver secure boot, cryptographic, key-storage, and trusted-execution features.
• Integrate software with new microcontroller hardware platforms.
• Partner with engineering, product, hardware, security, and certification teams.
• Drive code reviews, static analysis, test automation, CI/CD, validation, and debugging.

What you'll need

• 12+ years of embedded systems software development experience.
• At least 2 years in a formal leadership or management role.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Expertise in embedded C/C++ and ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers.
• Hands-on experience with drivers, RTOS integration, and system libraries.
• Strong knowledge of embedded security concepts and secure development practices.

Nice to have

• Experience with Zephyr RTOS and the Zephyr Project community.
• Knowledge of secure firmware updates, secure elements, and trusted execution environments.
• Familiarity with fuzz testing, threat modeling, or security tools.
• Experience managing geographically distributed teams.
• Exposure to PSA Certified, SESIP, or FIPS programs.
