Overview
Engineering Manager / Lead Software Engineer responsible for technical direction, processes, and product design, implementation, and delivery within one or more teams at NEA.
What you'll do
- Define the team’s engineering vision, strategy, and directions aligned to organizational goals.
- Drive product design, implementation, and delivery for one or more products owned by the team.
- Stay current on industry developments and ensure systems are architected, engineered, and maintained properly.
- Partner with stakeholders and agencies to prioritize and manage delivery roadmaps incrementally.
- Create and maintain a long-term technical plan and roadmap for the assigned team and others as needed.
- Coach engineers through feedback, mentoring, and guidance regarding performance and growth.
- Develop quality, reliability, and security strategies with cross-functional partners.
What you'll need
- Experience working on large, high-availability software systems operating at scale.
- Hands-on experience across the full technology stack (infrastructure, client, backend, performance, data).
- Full stack development experience building end-to-end systems (UI, APIs, backend, database systems).
- Very well versed in Agile, modular design, software automation, and Continuous Delivery approaches (e.g., TDD, CI, pair programming).
- Minimally 5+ years of development experience and 2+ years coaching developers.
- Agile and software engineering leadership and soft skills for leading a team to achieve goals.
Nice to have
- Experience in modern front-end engineering such as Next.Js/React.js and Java/TypeScript on the backend.
- Knowledge of cloud technologies such as Azure, AWS, and Docker or Kubernetes.
