Facility Executive – Technical

Overview

The Facility Executive – Technical is responsible for the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and performance of a facility's technical and engineering systems, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable building operations in line with client requirements and industry standards.

What you'll do

• Oversee the operation and maintenance of all mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), HVAC, fire and life safety, and other critical building systems, conducting regular inspections to identify faults or inefficiencies before they escalate.
• Manage planned preventive maintenance (PPM) schedules and ensure timely completion of corrective and reactive maintenance work orders, often using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
• Supervise third-party service providers performing technical work, review their performance against service level agreements (SLAs), and verify compliance with safety protocols.
• Track equipment warranties, asset life cycles, and spare parts inventory to support cost-effective maintenance planning.
• Ensure adherence to statutory and regulatory requirements (fire safety, electrical safety, environmental regulations), maintain documentation for audits, and support health and safety programs including risk assessments and incident reporting.
• Monitor utility consumption, identify opportunities for energy efficiency, and support sustainability initiatives.
• Assist in preparing and tracking the technical maintenance budget, review invoices, and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising service quality.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and incident logs, and prepare periodic reports for site or facility managers and clients.
• Respond promptly to technical breakdowns or emergencies, coordinate repairs, and minimize downtime or disruption to building operations.
• Act as a liaison between tenants, occupants, and the technical team to resolve facility-related concerns efficiently.

What you'll need

• Diploma or degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Building Services Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Three to six years of experience in facilities management, building operations, or technical maintenance roles.
• Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety, and BMS (Building Management Systems).
• Familiarity with CMMS/CAFM platforms.
• Strong understanding of statutory compliance requirements.
• Ability to read technical drawings and equipment manuals.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective vendor and contractor management skills.
• Clear communication for coordinating with clients, tenants, and internal teams.
• Solid organizational skills for managing maintenance schedules, documentation, and compliance records.
• Ability to work under pressure during emergencies or critical system failures.
