FBS Application Developer IV

Overview

Designs, develops and maintains computer programs and applications, monitors the work of junior staff, and supports production issues while working with the business. Responsibilities scale from Level I to Level IV, with Level IV managing technical activities and planning development, testing and implementation of systems.

What you'll do

• Code instructions for computer programs, objects and components, and configure packaged software.
• Test and implement all changes to ensure they meet specifications, and document and implement programs according to installation standards and conventions.
• Quality check program code, related objects and documentation.
• Respond to Production Support issues and work with the business as required.
• Analyze programs to ensure efficient use of computer and storage resources, and recommend changes as necessary.
• Conduct preliminary estimates and Rough Order of Magnitude for the level of effort of new or changed application functionality.
• Analyze and recommend approaches for system backup, security, restart/recovery, balancing and controls.
• Analyze and document requirements and approaches for data conversion and data modeling.
• Conduct system studies and analyze existing computerized and manual processes to improve efficiency, and research and develop automation techniques, as approved.
• Monitor the work of junior staff to ensure efficiency and compliance with specification.
• Design and develop documentation of proposed procedures and systems.
• Perform preliminary evaluation of packaged software and manage and control system development projects.
• Support implementation and training activities and troubleshoot system environmental issues as required.
• Plan and control development, testing and implementation of systems, and manage technical activities.
• Complete review of estimates and Rough Order of Magnitude for the level of effort and cost of new application functionality.
• Perform final evaluation of packaged software.
