FICC Research Analyst- Assistant Manager

Overview

Intermediate-level Quantitative Analyst on the Fixed Income Research team within State Street Investment Management's Investment Solutions Group, developing investment strategies and proprietary tools, engaging teams on thematic research and writing papers for publication.

What you'll do

• Develop investment strategies to improve investment decision-making processes.
• Create proprietary tools and solutions that deliver implementable outcomes.
• Engage with various teams for thematic research.
• Write papers for publication.
• Make individual contributions and potentially lead a portion of research independently.

What you'll need

• A bachelor's degree.
• At least 3 years of investment experience (either in research or portfolio management).
• Investment experience preferably focused on active security-selection, smart beta/risk premia research (including ESG as factors), or portfolio construction and optimization.
• Research experience in either an academic or industry setting.
• Strong quantitative and programming skills.
• Knowledge of statistical packages, preferably R or Python.
• Intermediate level SQL.
• Good communication skills.
• Strong process, organizational, time and project management skills.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree (MBA, MA, or MS) or CFA, preferred.
• Experience in the fixed income domain.
• Experience dealing with large data sets.
• Familiarity with front-office tools such as FactSet, Bloomberg, etc. (highly recommended).
• A desire to develop creative and innovative solutions (highly recommended).
• A level of market knowledge and attention to detail.
