Overview
Field Applications Engineer role focused on customer-facing technical leadership to support electronics design and deliver value to customers.
What you'll do
- Promote electronics technologies into customer designs to increase electronics component content.
- Understand customer needs and leverage engineering resources to facilitate value-adding solutions.
- Provide technical support and consulting in collaboration with the sales team before and after sales.
- Partner with sales, other departments, and suppliers to support customer design collaboration and research.
- Attend supplier training sessions in person and via conference calls.
- Manage supplier and customer expectations by building relationships and keeping stakeholders updated.
- Organize engineering customer events primarily in Sydney and independently present technical workshops.
What you'll need
- Degree in Electronic Engineering or a relevant discipline.
- Driver’s License required.
- Experience and ability to understand and self-train across electronics, including microcontrollers, analogue, and power management.
- Strong technical background and at least 3-4 years of electronics design experience.
- Willingness to travel across ANZ for customer meetings and supplier training; supplier training may be international.
- Ability to build and maintain good relationships/network with established customers.
- Comfortable with and setup to work from home.
Details
- Location: Sydney, Australia; field role with physical customer visits each week.
- Also covers other territories in NSW and elsewhere in Australia, with some travel.
- Working from home is expected, with availability of a co-work office area for some group meetings.
- Employment: Full time.
