Field Service Engineer

Overview

Field Service Engineer to execute ABB onsite service work with low to medium complexity and support automation system reliability in Mumbai, India.

What you'll do

• Execute service work using approved work instructions and ABB standard processes, quality, and safety guidelines.
• Plan and perform work using a first-time right approach for customer engagements.
• Perform onsite preventive and breakdown maintenance for ABB System 800xA, ensuring optimum performance and quick fault resolution.
• Maintain system reliability by diagnosing hardware/software issues and documenting learnings and best practices.
• Prepare and maintain maintenance checklists, activity lists, SOPs, and backup/recovery procedures.
• Identify sales opportunities and support system upkeep with upgrades and optimizations.
• Ensure HSE compliance at customer sites, eliminating unsafe practices and adhering to safety procedures.

What you'll need

• Diploma B.E/B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, or Instrumentation Engineering or similar field.
• 3–6 years of experience in Industrial Automation (DCS) with field service/commissioning in Power, Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or large industrial plants.
• Minimum 2 years of programming, testing, and commissioning experience in ABB System 800xA.
• Knowledge of AC500, Freelance, Advant AC450, or MOD300 is advantageous.
• Experience with communication interfaces such as Profibus, Modbus, OPC, IEC61850.
• Exposure to cybersecurity solutions, virtualization, and digital solutions.
• Resident engineer position based at customer location.
