Senior Project Engineer

Overview

Senior Project Engineer role at ABB focused on being a design authority for an engineering discipline within process industries automation.

What you'll do

• Complete design/engineering assignments across multiple projects and project portions.
• Ensure work is completed in line with contract specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and cybersecurity policies/standards.
• Work with customers to shape solutions and seek feedback to drive improvements.
• Create work plans and cost estimates for a portfolio while ensuring quality, timely delivery, and targeted cost.
• Coordinate with relevant functions to support manufacturing/staging, testing, installation, and commissioning of designs.
• Coach engineering colleagues on translating conceptual designs into engineering documentation, best practices, and lessons learned.

What you'll need

• 8–10 years of experience in project electrical engineering.
• First Class B.E./B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Hands-on experience with cement/grinding/WHRS/CPP/HSM/CRM/processing lines and mining/conveyor systems.
• Knowledge of HV/MV/LV switchgear, MCCs/IMCCs, power/distribution/converter/lighting transformers, battery and chargers, and VVVF drives.
• Experience with electrical integration/automation using IEC61850, OPC, Modbus/Modbus TCP/IP, Profinet/Profibus.
• Track record in electrical system engineering for process plants (including 220 kV to 110 V AC and 220/110 V DC power systems).
