Overview
Control Engineer responsible for controls project deliverables, control software validation, and project-specific software/hardware configuration for Solar and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects.
What you'll do
- Deliver controls project work including controls software validation.
- Create project-specific controls software and support FAT, SAT, and HIL.
- Provide commissioning support and on-site startup/integration of systems.
- Develop control hardware configuration and design communications networks (e.g., DI/DO, Ethernet, FO).
- Track controls deliverables status to complete on time with quality.
- Collaborate with project managers, internal teams, and customers to finalize requirements per contract scope.
- Conduct software code reviews, testing, and software validation; support problem identification and resolution.
What you'll need
- Minimum 3+ years of experience developing and implementing control software.
- Bachelor’s/master’s degree in electrical/electronic/instrumentation/controls engineering or equivalent.
- Experience with GE MarkVIe product and tools (Toolbox ST, Workstation ST, Cimplicity/SCADA, P80i) is preferable.
- Knowledge of industrial protocols including OPC-UA, Modbus, EGD, Profibus, CAN bus, IEC 61850, and IEC 104.
- Experience with PLC, DCS, SCADA, SQL, and Matlab Simulink.
- Experience with grid code compliance (e.g., Australian grid code, PLQ & AEMO; UK/USA/European/Germany/Italy/Turkey/India).
- Familiarity with AS/NZS safety standards.
