Overview
Controls Engineer/Sr Engineer role focused on executing and developing automation controls projects for manufacturing engineering at GM Technical Centre India (Bengaluru), with hybrid work and travel for project execution.
What you'll do
- Supervise and control projects across scope, issues, risks, and schedule.
- Handle issues to closure and communicate project status via meetings and reviews.
- Own in-house engineering for hardware/software designs, emulation, and commissioning at site.
- Support offline testing and buyoff at suppliers’ sites, and deploy GM global standards.
- Perform root cause analysis and share lessons learned from completed projects.
- Coordinate design deliverables, safety aspects, and test runs for equipment at site.
What you'll need
- 7+ years’ experience in automotive or software companies with automation background.
- Masters or bachelor’s degree in electrical/electronics/instrumentation engineering.
- In-depth knowledge of control systems for automotive assembly plants.
- Knowledge of PLC, HMI, drives, networks, with strong programming skills (preferably Rockwell PLC).
- Thorough knowledge of Rockwell PLC software, Siemens HMI software, and related interfaces.
- Knowledge of emulation tools like Emulate 3D.
- Ability to read electrical/mechanical drawings and perform PLC hardware/software design.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work with intercultural, multi-disciplinary teams (including remote teams).
- Willingness to travel across regions for executing projects.
- In-house hardware and software controls experience is preferred.
