Overview
Controls Engineer to lead the design, development, optimization, and implementation of advanced control systems for critical infrastructure, with focus on data center infrastructure, power/energy management, and industrial automation.
What you'll do
- Define and own control system architecture across PLC/IPC, SCADA, BMS, EPMS, and MES platforms.
- Lead development and implementation of PLC/IPC control systems using Siemens, Rockwell, Schneider, Beckhoff, and Codesys.
- Design and deploy SCADA and HMI systems across platforms including Ignition, WinCC, FactoryTalk, and AVEVA.
- Develop reusable control logic using IEC 61131-3 programming standards and create control system documentation (FDS, SOO, I/O lists, alarm matrices, interface definitions).
- Define communication protocols (Modbus, BACnet, OPC UA, Ethernet/IP, SNMP) and integrate control systems with BMS/EPMS/SCADA/MES and cloud platforms.
- Lead FAT and SAT, and support commissioning, troubleshooting, and optimization.
What you'll need
- 8+ years of experience in control system design and implementation.
- Deep expertise in PLC/IPC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider, Beckhoff).
- Experience with SCADA/HMI development across multiple platforms.
- Experience with BMS integration and optimization.
- Experience with EPMS systems for real-time energy monitoring and analytics.
- Familiarity with NFPA, IEC, and ISO standards related to control systems and safety.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related field.
Details
- Role involves technical leadership for system architecture, integration, and execution across PLC, IPC-based controls, SCADA/HMI, BMS, and EPMS.
- Includes design and support for mission-critical infrastructure such as UPS, generators, switchgear, chillers, liquid cooling systems, CRAC/CRAH units, and fire protection systems.
- Requires root cause analysis and resolution of complex control system issues during commissioning and operations.
- Involves developing system-level simulations and digital twin models and evaluating emerging automation technologies.
- Facilitates technical reviews, workshops, and planning sessions with cross-functional stakeholders.
