Filling Instrumentation Engineer

Overview

Maintain and troubleshoot pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment and instrumentation across filling, packaging, utilities, and related production areas. The role covers maintenance, calibration, compliance documentation, and engineering improvement projects.

What you'll do

• Execute preventive, breakdown, and predictive maintenance for mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems.
• Calibrate instruments including transmitters, sensors, gauges, flowmeters, control valves, and analytical instruments.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures, PLC, SCADA, and DCS alarms.
• Manage preventive maintenance work orders, spares, and task records in EAMS or CMMS.
• Perform root cause analysis and support CAPA, deviation, and change-control activities.
• Support equipment installation, commissioning, qualification, upgrades, and shutdown maintenance.
• Follow EHS, LOTO, GMP, documentation, and workplace organization requirements.

What you'll need

• Diploma or B.Tech in Mechanical, Instrumentation, or Electronics Engineering.
• 6–7 years of industrial experience with a Diploma, or 1–3 years with a B.Tech.
• Experience in a regulated pharmaceutical, biotech, or chemical industry.
• Knowledge of GMP, GDP, GEP, equipment qualification, calibration, and validation principles.
• Ability to interpret P&IDs, electrical drawings, loop diagrams, and OEM manuals.
• Knowledge of PDCA, fishbone analysis, 5-Why, and lean problem-solving tools.

Nice to have

• Experience with Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or Emerson DeltaV automation platforms.
• Knowledge of cleanrooms, HVAC systems, and ISO 14644 requirements.
• Experience leading equipment installation, upgrades, or shutdown maintenance planning.
• Exposure to vibration analysis, thermography, or oil analysis.
